We all make errors, and sometimes, those errors can make us look like idiots. Especially when that error gets published out in the world, even though it likely went through a host of gatekeepers to get there. And that's why we're here. To shame those gatekeepers with an internet scarlet S. I don't expect you to be perfect. It takes a village, and every village has an idiot. But for the sake of your company's reputation, hire a village that has at least one member THAT CAN SPELL.

You know someone is blaming Anne Shirley...

Prince Edward Island is a tiny little place, as I understand it, with a few tiny little newspapers covering the local goings-on. I get this. I grew up on a little tiny island in Florida, with our own wee little newspaper. Loyal reader and internet buddy RP sent this article in from the May 19, 2012 edition of the Journal Pioneer, covering Summerside, PEI. Sometimes, the Canadians like to spell things differently than us Americans, owing to both their British and French heritages. However, that's simply not what went wrong here.

Do you suppose he can explain all those melty clocks?
RP explained to me that he'd hoped this was a play on words, but upon reading the article, learned that's not the case. It's just wrong. This is a SUPER EASY thing to proofread, y'all. I can understand maybe not knowing how to spell "Dalai Lama," but again, you don't have to know. THAT'S WHAT THE INTERNET IS FOR.

But now don't you really want to see how Dali would paint a llama? It would be all bendy, with extra limbs, for sure.

(Thanks, RP!)
